December 10, 2012

Dear Family,

I can't even believe it's already December 10! How on earth did that happen? Christmas is right around the corner, but I feel like I just got here still!

This week has been a very busy week, but it's definitely been a good one. We've done a lot of finding and we have some new prospects that seem pretty promising!

We got to go caroling this week with our district and the Palmyra district at the Wayne County nursing home on Thursday. It was so much fun! It really did brighten the place up, even if our singing wasn't the best. At points we had to separate into groups so my group was me, Sister Fetuli, Danae (from the ward), Elder Erekson, Elder Houskeeper and a member of the Fayette ward. Let's just say we weren't always in tune :) Elder Houskeeper even went up to one of the nurses and asked what her favorite Christmas song was so we could "slaughter" it for her. Ha ha ha I got a good laugh out of that one!

Guess who gets to talk in church again this Sunday? Yep, that would be me! Yippie skippie ;-) ha ha. Sister Graham and I were both asked to give five minute talks on what it's like to be away from home for the holidays, why we decided to come on missions and what Christmas means to us. Easy enough I guess. Ha ha. People keep asking me what it's like to be away for the holidays. Yes, it feels a little weird, but I'm totally fine with it because I know why I'm here. I'm out here to testify of Jesus Christ, the very person we are celebrating! I owe everything to Him, so one Christmas away from my family to help others come unto Him is the VERY least I can do. As part of the Mormon.org Christmas campaign (P.S. have all of you posted that on your Facebook and written on there what Christmas means to you? If so, great, post the link again! If not, go do it NOW!) we have been able to teach a lot of people that probably wouldn't have even listened to us for a second normally. It's been really great to tell people over and over again why I'm here and how that relates to the season. We are celebrating the most important gift God has ever given us and that is His Son, Jesus Christ!! There's no greater message than that!

Anyway, I'm out of time for this week. I love you all so much! Thanks for the packages you've sent Mom and Dad! I've gotten both of them. Sorry I forgot to acknowledge that last week. You have done too much for me. Thanks for all the love and support. I seriously couldn't do it without all of you! Hugs and kisses, especially to them boys! Mom, I loved the story you told about Alex jabbering at Beck to comfort him to come down the hill. They are so big!

Love you times a billion!

Love,

Sister Butters
