January 14, 2013

Dear Family,

Has it seriously only been a week since I last emailed? Ha ha this has definitely been THE LONGEST week of my whole mission, but not in a bad way. Ha ha it just felt like this week lasted an eternity, but I loved every minute of it.

This week has pretty much just been a miracle. I've kind of just felt like I'm floating around learning all the new things I need to do and getting to know a new ward. Every week we spend several hours making the schedule for the sisters, planning site meeting, observing the sisters giving tours at the sites, etc. Making the schedule is kind of complicated and mind boggling because we have to coordinate for sisters to carpool and everything, but I'll get used to it. My first site meeting went well. Every week we plan a training for the meeting and this week was kind of an interesting one. We normally have the meeting at the Hill but it was at the Smith Farm this week so we could go over some safety stuff (where the gas shut off is, electric box in each building, etc.) Elder Smellie did the safety training and Sister Madsen and I went over points to emphasize in each building (things that often get left out during tours, stuff like that). I was a little nervous at first, but if I've learned anything as a missionary, it's to open my mouth and let the Spirit fill it!

This week we also did a lot of training for the new sisters. We got 4 new sisters this transfer and they are freaking ALL STARS! They are so on the ball. We took them and their trainers through a tour of the sites on Wednesday just to introduce the new ones to how it works. Then we had a dinner at the Searles and did a little training on having enthusiasm at the sites. Let's just say with being site trainer I now get to talk in front of people a lot more than I already do ha ha.

It's just different from what I've been doing the rest of my mission, because now the other sisters our my "investigators" in a sense. They are the ones that I spend a good portion of my time thinking about and planning lessons for and everything. It's really great though because I love the sites and I love the sisters. I still have a lot to learn and get used to, but I know Heavenly Father is looking out for me.

Oh, how could I forget my FAVORITE thing about being a site trainer... I get to go to Zone Leader Council! Every month, President brings all of the zone leaders in for training and Sister Madsen and I get to go every month. I feel so spoiled anytime I get to learn something from President! This ZLC was about goal setting and accountability for goals. We go so that we can include the things he suggests in our site meeting trainings. It was so awesome. My mission is making me into a better goal maker, and I need to be even better at it.

Anyway, I'm about out of time. Thanks for all the love and support! I love you all so much and miss you tons!

Love,

Sister Butters
