Dear Family,
Pageant Miracle #1:
I'M AN AUNT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AH!!!!!!!!!!!! She is so adorable and I'm
so glad I didn't have to wait another day to see her thanks to family from our
stake coming in. It was so funny. I was in the print shop doing pageant mode
and I see this family at the back of the room and they are paying super close
attention. They lingered after I had told everyone else to go onto the next
element and their son comes up and says, "President Coleman says
hello!" Apparently he had just scheduled his last pre-mission interview
with him. The mom all of the sudden says, "I'm going to call your mom.
What's her number?" Ha ha so I gave it to her. I didn't really think she
was going to call RIGHT THAT SECOND but she did. Miraculously there was a bit
of a lull in the crowd so I was able to hear her talk to Mom on the phone just
long enough to hear that Baby Addi and arrived. I was so excited that I
announced that I was an aunt again to the next group that came in :) Ha ha I
feel bad because I kind of had to ignore the sister from our stake for a minute
to get the groups of people through but then she showed me a picture of Addi.
She's adorable! She looks like a little old lady with her cute little wrinkles
:)
Pageant Miracle #2:
We are surviving :) Ha ha ha it has been so humid and hot here, of course right
in time for pageant. The last two days we spent at the Smith Farm were killer.
The upstairs of the log home pretty much has no ventilation in it so it gets SO
STUFFY up there. We've been drinking water like crazy! We've seen pageant every
night so far between booths and people we are teaching coming, which means we
haven't gotten home until about 11:20 most nights of pageant, only to get up at
6:30 again the next day so we can be at the hill by 7:40 to sort referrals for
the sisters to start calling ;) We take naps during lunch and dinner whenever
we actually have time to eat lunch or dinner ha ha. Ha ha it's been the longest
week of my mission, but certainly not in a bad way. I feel like so many rules
from the white handbook have just been thrown out the window this week! It's
quite a unique experience, but I've loved every second of it.
Pageant Miracle #3:
We are now working at the BOMPS in the air conditioning :)
Pageant Miracle #4:
Pageant is AWESOME! I love every second of the show. I'll have to send a
program so you can see the scenes that they depict in pageant. Obviously they
can't depict every scene in the whole Book of Mormon but it's still good. They
skip everything between Abinadi and Samuel the Lamanite. They've got some
pretty funny lines in the pageant. Mine and Sister Killen's favorite is when
Laman and Lemuel start being jerks on the boat and it says, "Laman, Lemuel
and the sons of Ishmael began to amuse themselves." Ha ha I wish you could
hear it. It's so funny!! The special effects are really good too. Some of my
favorite parts are the vision scenes because they shoot water up in the air and
light it. I'll send a picture ha ha. But of course the scene where Christ
descends is so powerful, especially when the little kids run up to him. I'm so
excited for everyone to see it one day!
There are soooo many
more pageant miracles that I will have to tell you next week. I'm loving every
second of it and appreciate all the support!
Love you all so so so
much! Miss you tons! I'm so happy to have a new baby niece! I wish so badly
that I could have been there, but I know without a doubt in my mind that this
is exactly where God needs me to be.
Keep praying and
reading your scriptures, no matter how tired you are! Gaining spiritual
strength is just as important as gaining physical :) Yes Sister Butters!
Love,
Sister Butters
