Dear family,
Pageant hangover is the mode we are all in right now :) ha
ha we are all actually doing a really well recuperating. The sites have been
pretty slow this week which has given everyone a chance to catch their breath.
Pageant was so great in so many ways. I LOVED being able to
see people from the Lyons Ward all the time. I feel like I got a little taste
of what it will feel like to see them again in the celestial kingdom :) ha ha.
The pageant itself of course was great too. It unfortunately got cancelled on
Friday night because of rain and lightning, so of the 7 performances that actually
happened, Sister Killen and I went to all 7! How blessed we were to be able to
have so many of the people we teach come. Pageant seriously brings the Spirit
so strongly and no one can deny it.
So this is randomly placed in this email, but I have no idea
what's going to happen with transfers next week. I half feel like I'm staying
and I half feel like I'm going. Ha ha obviously I have no clue and there really
is no predicting since this is President Francis' first transfer. I really
really really want to stay at the sites through the end of my mission and I
would love to stay in my area one more transfer, but I know that Heavenly
Father knows best. Since I don't know what's going on with transfers, I don't
know when my P-day will be for sure. If I stay in Farmington, it will be on
Thursday because Wednesday is the new sisters' meeting. If I get transferred,
who knows! I'm kind of freaking out about transfers. It's the first time since
I came to Farmington that I've even had to worry about getting transferred so
it's a bit nerve wracking. All I know is I'll go where the Lord wants me to go
:) But, since I don't know where I'm going, please just send whatever anyone
sends next week to the mission office so we will be sure it gets to me. Thanks!
Anyway, the second half of the week with pageant mode at the
BOMPS was an adventure. Especially in the BOMPS it gets crazy because of the
noise level. Sometimes it's really hard to control the crowd too, but we do our
best. My voice was going out by the end of the week though because you have to
talk WAY more at the BOMPS and you also have to talk a lot louder so everyone
can hear you. We are so grateful for the volunteer couples that come. They come
and do a mini two week mission and help at the sites. I wish we could have kept
them all permanently they were all so great. It's crazy how fast we all grew to
love each other too. They took really good care of us and always had some sort
of food on the break table if we got hungry :) Yes, I know I'm totally spoiled
:)
Oh, guess who gets to talk in church
this Sunday? Yep, me. Ha ha I can't decide if that's Heavenly Father telling me
I'm being transferred, but either way I'm grateful for the opportunity. My topic
is Jesus Christ as a teacher. I studied it a bit this morning and I'm excited
to go more in depth ;)
Some of the best moments of pageant
were moments when the crowds would slow down a bit and we could spend more time
teaching the individual groups. I feel like this always happened for the right
groups -- the ones who knew why they were at the sites. I have grown to love
these sacred sites so much and I am grateful for any opportunity I have to help
others feel the same love I have developed. Heavenly Father really does answer
prayers and the sites are a place where prayers are answered. I don't know if
I'll ever understand how I got so lucky to serve here, but I will be FOREVER
grateful that I was.
Oh Happy Pioneer Day by the way :)
Anyway, I'm about out of time for today. Thanks for all the
love and support! Give Addi and the Boys hugs and kisses from Auntie Sister
Butters (ha ha I'm denying the fact that I have a first name as long as I can
:D ha ha ha).
Hope it's another great week! Remember, it's all true!!!
Wish me luck with transfers! ;) I know I'll go where I'm
supposed to.
Love,
Sister Butters
