Dear Family,
I survived transfers!!!!!!!! I can't
even tell you how nervous I was about this transfer. I kept flip flopping
whether I thought I was going or staying. One moment I would be thinking,
"I better start packing!" and the next I would be sure I was staying.
We were hoping to get transfer calls Sunday night but they didn't come until
early Monday morning. I about collapsed on the floor with joy to know that I
got to stay another transfer in Farmington! I'm pretty sure this will be my
last one. Last the best of all the game! It's going to be a miracle of the
transfer!
Last Thursday was a crazy day. We needed
to stop off at the Smith Farm for just a minute and there were BUS LOADS of
kids walking to the farm and another bus pulling into the parking lot. We found
out one of the senior sisters working the shift was sick so that meant they
only had 5 people to handle the large crowds. My companion and I were supposed
to have an area day that day but we saw there was no way they could keep their
sanity and manage the farm without us. We ran home and grabbed our stuff for
the day and came back to help. It was a good thing we did. It was so busy we
had to break into pageant mode for a bit, but we managed. After the farm we got
to go do initiatories at the temple. Loved it! I knew a few of the temple
workers on staff that day so it made it even more special. Have I ever told you
how much I love the temple?
Another fun thing about last
Thursday was when an Elder paid up on a bet us sisters won. I don't remember if
I told you about it or not. But back when we had our interviews with Pres.
Francis and he had us playing basketball with his sons, let's just say it was
evident I'm not the best basketball player ;) Ha ha some of the elders were
teasing me about how I hadn't even made a shot yet, so the Elder said,
"Sister Butters, if you make this 3 pointer on the first try, I'll buy
you, and the other Sisters here Chill and Grill ice cream." He totally
didn't think I would make it in a thousand years but with Chill and Grill on
the line... ha ha. I totally swooshed it on the first try. Let's just say God
certainly has a sense of humor because I have no idea how I made it ha ha.
Anyway, Thursday was pay-up day for the Elder so we all went to Chill and
Grill. We ran into several members there and us sisters LOVED to tell them how
it was that we earned our Chill and Grill. Ha ha they all just laughed at the
Elder. It was awesome! :)
My talk in Sacrament meeting went
really well. I felt really good about it. I had a ton of the visitors come up
at the end and tell me how much they liked it and I keep running into people at
the sites who are still around the area and keep telling me they loved it.
Anyway, I'm about out of time for
now. Keep sending hard copies of pictures of Addi and the Boys! I love to show
them off!
Love you all so much and miss you
tons!!!!!!!!!!!! It's all true!!!!
Love,
Sister Butters
