Dear Family,
It has been a week
full of miracles here! We have certainly been busy busy busy, which I love, but
of course that makes the time fly, which I don't love. Ha ha.
Anyway, wasn't General Conference so awesome?! I actually
got to see ALL of it except President Eyring's talk from the Saturday morning
session. I worked at the sites both days but the senior couples were so sweet
and did absolutely everything they could to make sure the sisters didn't have
to take tours unless it was absolutely needed. They figured they could watch it
later at home, but it's a lot harder for us to make time to catch up on it
during companion study and things like that. I absolutely loved all of
Conference. It's the best thing ever to watch it as a missionary and think
about which talk will help this investigator or that less active. Some of my
favorite talks were Elder Holland's, President Uchtdorf's and President
Monson's Sunday morning talk. The Spirit is so strong when I watch Conference
and I know everyone who spoke is called of God. Isn't it the best to know we
have a living prophet?
I just feel so
blessed to be a missionary right now and see things start to take off in our
area. It talks in Preach My Gospel that we as missionaries need to leave our
areas better than we found them. I don't think I'll be leaving Farmington until
the end of the summer, but I want to do exactly what it says in PMG. It's so
cool to see that take place in all the areas. For example, Newark North is
doing so much better now with the sisters there right now than it was when I
left it, and that is SO GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I'm not trying to dis the
work I did there. I feel like I did what I was sent to Newark to do, but I know
the sisters there now are taking it to the next level, just as they should) It makes
me so happy to see it getting better and better and the work progressing.
Things with the ward are going great too. I love the Palmyra Ward! I'm so excited to get to know them
better!!!!
I'm pretty sure if
you count the number of exclamation points that I used in this letter it would
make every journalist cringe (it's making the journalist in me do so) but I
just can't help it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Being a missionary is the
BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm running out of
time, but I love you all so much! I can't express to you all how deeply I know
that this work is true. The Book of Mormon really will bring you closer to God
because it's true. Christ is truly our Savior, it's true! Joseph Smith really
did see Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ here (yes, I can say here because I'm
emailing from the Smith Farm right now! How lucky am I?!) It's true! It's ALL
TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (That's President Christianson's favorite phrase and
it's rubbed off on me because it's true!)
Thanks for all the
love and support. I have the world's best family, no lie! Miss you tons! Love
you times a billion!
Love,
Sister Butters
