June 26, 2013

Dear Family,

I want to puke thinking about what tomorrow is.

The dreaded year mark.

Blah.

How has a year passed by in a blink of an eye? I feel like Jacob when he wrote, "... our lives passed away like as it were unto us a dream" (Jacob 7:26. Yes, I'm a nerdy missionary who thinks in scripture now and proud of it! :D) I think back on the person I was a year ago and the growth of my testimony astounds me. I've been blessed to experience some of the hardest experiences of my life, yet felt the most indescribable joy. I wouldn't trade any of it for anything in the world. Heavenly Father has been so good to me. I don't even have the words to adequately express it.

Well, I just emailed you on Saturday and it feels weird to have P-day so soon :) Welcome to the life of a site trainer I guess. Things have kind of EXPLODED getting ready for pageant. I feel bad that Sister Killen's very first weekly schedule was one of the hardest ones to figure out. But there is seriously nothing I would rather be doing right now because I know I'm exactly where God wants me to be.

So, did any of you see the broadcast on Sunday? If not, here's your homework assignment. Watch this: click here. ASAP! It's long, yes, but you can break it up into segments and EVERY member of the church NEEDS to see this! It's blow your mind kind of good. Member missionary work is the future of missionary work, yet it's nothing new too :) The entire time I was watching it I kept thinking, "My purpose as a member is exactly the same as my purpose as a missionary." It was the Quorum of the Twelve and the First Presidency giving us the invitation for EVERYONE to participate in the work of salvation in whatever way possible. Seriously, watch it and it will get you so pumped to missionary work. What a blessing it will be for the church and the world as we all work to bring souls to Christ. I'm so excited to help do this for the rest of my life!

Tonight is President and Sister Christianson's last site meeting :( So sad. Pres. Francis gets here on Monday and they leave on Tuesday. It's so bitter sweet but I'm excited for the Francises to come.

Anyway, I'm about out of time now. Love you all times a billion! Thanks for all the love and support. This has been the best year of and for my life and I couldn't have done it without you all.

It's all true, don't forget it.

Love,
Sister Butters
