Dear family,
I don't think there has been a transfer
in my whole mission that has gone as fast as this one! It's probably
because Sister Aiello and Sister Madsen are leaving. It's been flying by
though!
I'm just going to look at each day of my planner and
go in order of the week to remind me of what happened. We've been
working at the sites 5 times a week instead of 4 like everyone else
because Elder Searle now wants the sisters doubled up every day except
Tuesday and Wednesday, so sometimes it's hard to remember what happened
when!
I worked at the Smith Farm on Saturday and it was
super busy. I was on a tour and we were walking out of the log home when Elder Hansen
comes up the path saying there was someone requesting that I give them a
tour. I was thinking that was kind of odd so I asked if it would be ok
if whomever it was just added to the tour I was currently on then I
could take them back to the log home. I was thinking, "Who on earth
would be personally requesting me for a tour?" when Elder and Sister
Snarr and her siblings (her sister and brother) come walking down the
path. Ha ha. They told me I had given them such a good tour last time at
the Book of Mormon Publication Site that they had talked to one of the
senior elders ahead to find out where I would be working on Saturday so I
could take them on tour. I thought that was so sweet of them! We went
to the frame home with the women I already had on tour and the Spirit
was very strong. We sent the other people out into the grove and I took the
Snarrs and their family back to the log home. It was one of the best log
home experiences I've ever had. I felt prompted to do something
different than I usually do. After I shared the first vision we talked
about how we can find our own "sacred grove." Sister Snarr's sister was
just so appreciative of the testimony I bore and shared a few
experiences of times she has felt that she has reached her own "sacred
grove." When I was walking them out to the grove she said, "Thank you
for being Joseph's voice today." I hadn't ever thought about that
before. Every time I give a tour, I get to be Joseph's voice in bearing
testimony to the people I have on tour. I thanked her for saying that to
me and they were all so sweet and grateful that I had been able to take
them on tour. It really made my day :)
We are in full bus tour mode. We had two bus tours
from Utah at the BOMPS on Sunday as well as a ton of other families. I
love it when it's busy and we get to give back to back to back to back
tours!
Anywho, sorry if this email is slightly boring. I'm
doing great and I LOVE being a missionary! These next two weeks are
going to be insanely busy getting ready for transfers. We are going to
try to get the pageant schedule done before Sister Madsen leaves... when
that will happen is the question ;)
Love you and miss you all times a billion! Thanks for all the love and support!
Love,
Sister Butters
