I can't believe it's already Tuesday again! Time seriously is flying by. Can you believe I've already been out three months? I most certainly can't!
Sister Adams and I got to go to the temple today. We planned at the beginning of the transfer so we would be able to go to the temple the Tuesday before General Conference so we could start our spiritual marathon weekend off right. The temple is so awesome! I just love the temple missionaries that work there. I've taken quite a few of them on tour with their families so I've been getting to know them, which makes it even more fun to see them in the temple. Right before we went to the temple today we had personal study and I ready Enos 1:27. Next time you go to the temple and are in the Celestial room, read that scripture. It's really cool to apply it to your temple experience.
Back to the thought of General Conference.... I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!! Ha ha. I just can't wait for this weekend! We got to go to the Relief Society broadcast last Saturday and it was AWESOME! I loved how much they focused on the Atonement. For General Conference, we have an area day on Saturday which means we will get to watch both sessions at the ward building. We work a shift on Sunday at the Smith Farm from 12:30-7, so we won't get to go to the church building to watch it :-( I think the senior couples will probably bring their computers to the sites so we can watch it when we aren't giving tours. I would imagine not a lot of people will be coming through this weekend since most of the people that come through are members so in theory they would be watching General Conference.
Last Tuesday after I emailed we went hiking at Chimney Bluffs. It was a lot of fun! It wasn't too difficult of a hike so we had a nice leisurely stroll mostly. It was fun to get out and do something, but I'm excited that we don't have anything planned for the rest of today's P-day. Just going grocery shopping then hanging out at home until ward scripture study tonight.
Speaking of ward scripture study, Sister Adams and I taught it last week and it went so well! We had been wanting to lead a scripture study about the Book of Mormon for a while now, and we finally got to. It was so great because everyone got involved. (P.S. if I haven't ever talked about ward scripture study, we have it every Tuesday at 7. Anyone in the ward is welcome, but it's mostly to help investigators and recent converts learn how to better study their scriptures, but we all end up learning it together!). We set up an awesome scripture chain about why the prophets wrote the Book of Mormon, how you can find value in it, how the Bible and the Book of Mormon work together to testify of Christ and ended with scriptures about the truth of the Book of Mormon. I know I always write about what a miracle the Book of Mormon is, but it's totally true, and this scripture study just reminded me of that even more. The Book of Mormon went through SO much to get to us. It even talks about in it (I don't know the reference) about how Mormon couldn't even include "an hundreth" part of the records he had to choose from. If he had so many things to choose from, don't you think there's a pretty important reason why the things that are in the Book of Mormon made the cut? I just can't even express the love that I have for the Book of Mormon. I know I'm just as guilty as anyone for not appreciating it as much as I should. It truly is a treasure sent to us by God, so I hope everyone keeps reading out of it--but more than just reading, I hope we are all really searching it's pages. The Book of Mormon is the best! I'm so lucky to be serving in the place where it was found, translated (or at least part of it was translated at the Whitmer farm) and printed. It's totally opened my eyes to what a treasure it is, and that's thanks to the people I get to take on tour at these sites. People teach me to have a better appreciation for it every day, and I'm so grateful for that.
It's turning into fall here and I LOVE IT! Sometimes when Sister Adams and I are driving to the sites we seriously can't even believe we got called on our missions to such a beautiful place. We are starting to see reds, yellows and oranges among the green trees of the Sacred Grove. I can't wait until it's all changed! It's been raining a lot lately too which I of course LOVE.
I'm about out of time now, but I should have time to write you a letter when I get home from grocery shopping. Thank you so much for all the love and support. I just seriously love being a missionary. It's the best decision I've ever made to come out here because it is changing me forever (in a good way of course). My testimony of the atonement grows more and more each day, but the neat thing is that I've learned that I don't have to be on a mission to have my testimony grow each day. We all have the same tools: scripture study and prayer, we all just need to make sure we are putting the effort in to use them.
I love you all soooooooo much! Miss you tons!
Love,
